Dear Boaters,

Spring has arrived and the marina is thawing out. It is time to think about getting your boat ready to hit the water. Launch will begin in the coming weeks and continue right through May. As always, launch is arranged by location on land with the general rule being “last out, first in”. We will be in contact with owners as launch dates approach to make sure everyone is ready.

The marina tender service will resume on Wednesday April 4th with a full schedule for the summer posted on our website. Until the York st. dock is installed we will be operating off the Toronto Harbour Tours docks located on the south side of the Beavertails.

The bar will be opening on weekends starting April 7th with expanded hours at the end of the month. The kitchen will also have limited weekend offerings and open weekdays as of April 23rd.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the island soon.

Sincerely,

Your TIM Team

Dear Boaters,

One last Saturday and one last chance to have some fun at The Upper Deck. It is finally time for the Hangers On Party and Potluck. Bring your favorite dish around 5 pm and have a drink with everyone who has made it all the way to the end of a very unique season. Costumes are encouraged as it is also the Halloween party night. There will be a contingent heading to Wards for the dance around 9 pm.

In other news, make sure you have made arrangements with the front office for haul out. It is November next week and we are “All out, haul out”. Winterizing forms should also be send in immediately so that all work can be organized prior to the cold weather.

We remind everyone that all belongings must be stored on your boats or in your dock box. All land areas used during the summer must be cleared of chairs, tables, bikes etc. We use all available space to store boats and docks. Please check with the front office if you are not sure whether something should be moved. We do not take responsibility for items left out during the off season.

As always, we thank everyone for your continued support of Toronto Island Marina. We are already looking forward to Spring and another season on the water.

Sincerely,

Your TIM Team

Dear Boaters,

Summer has arrived and Canada Day weekend is on our doorstep. The harbour will be alight with fireworks Saturday night from multiple locations on the waterfront and where better to watch then from the Island?! The Upper Deck will have live music going all weekend-long starting Friday night with Jake Chisholm performing songs from his album “No More Sorrow.” On Saturday, there will be afternoon tunes from The Graham Playford Duo at 3 pm, followed by the return of the legendary Tender Senders at 8:30pm. Sunday is just as action-packed with an afternoon of For Ella’s gypsy jazz stylings, followed by a rock star performance by Graham Playford and his whole band! Make sure to check out the events section on our website for all our summer bands and events.
As we continue to settle into the new kitchen, we are expanding the menu so come check out the new additions! We will also have the Late-Night Menu up and running this weekend, so come get some late-night snacks from us at the satellite bar window.

We will continue the Saturday morning Fuel Run at 9:30am from Bathurst Quay. Please make sure you call the office at 416-203-1055 to confirm your drop off.

Tender schedule interruption – Due to the fireworks on Saturday night, the 10:45pm tender departing the island and 11pm departing the city will be delayed by approx. 30 mins due to navigational restrictions during the fireworks show. Service will resume as soon as possible with the last scheduled Island departure at 12:45am.
As always, we look forward to seeing everyone out on the island this weekend!

Sincerely,

Your TIM Team

Dear Boaters,

What a spring it has been so far.  From a rainy April to a wet May, we have more water than we know what to do with.

As most know from the news coverage, Lake Ontario is at record levels and the outlook is that it is not going away fast.  From best estimates, we could still see the lake rise another 1 to 5 cm. over the next 2 weeks before it starts to slowly recede.   Weather will play a big factor in that timeline along with wind direction that can result in periodic surging of water levels.

Toronto Island Marina has been working hard to mitigate the effects of the high lake levels that have resulted in some overland flooding in areas of the Marina.  We have had to restrict access to the worst hit areas and created some temporary access ramps to runways.  Caution tape has been put up to indicate areas the people should avoid and use extreme caution when in close proximity to. We ask that everyone exercise extreme caution when at the marina and report any unsafe conditions to the marina office immediately.

Tender service remains on normal schedule.  Full schedule is available on our website, www.torontoislandmarina.com

The Snack Bar is open for Breakfast and Lunch 7 days a week 9am to 3pm and we have a BBQ open at the bar FridaySunday for dinner and late night menu.

At this time there are about 50 docks that are unusable and we have been making every effort to accommodate those displaced with temporary slips.  We appreciate everyone’s patience while we wait for the water to recede.  As soon as the water starts to go down we will be assessing the damage and making every effort to return the marina to normal operations.

Season Opener Party!

June is arriving and with it the kick off of another boating season. So let’s start it right with our Season Opener Party!   The Mercenaries will be retuning to the island this Saturday night to get everybody dancing on the Upper Deck.  They will start around 8pm and go til 11pm.  Last tender is scheduled for 11:45 but may run later based on demand.

We will also have a fresh BBQ menu for the weekend with everyone’s favorite, TACOS!!!!

Come try our new flavours and stay tuned for new menu items.  Progress on our new kitchen is going great, we expect to start cooking in the new space in mid June.  Updates to follow.

Bar hours for this weekend will be:

Thursday              2pm-8pm
Friday                    2pm-11pm
Saturday`             12pm-12am
Sunday                 12pm-8pm

As weather and water conditions improve we will be extending our hours of operation with email updates as they change.

Toronto Island Marina has been forced to close our fuel dock due to the high water levels. We apologize for this inconvenience and have come up with a plan to get you out on the water.  This Saturday we will be doing 2 scheduled fuel runs from the city for boaters to load fuel cans and tanks.  This will be done with a work boat from Bathurst Quay (Queens Quay W and Dan Leckie Way) at 9:30 am and 1:30 pm.  Bring your fuel cans down to our boat and drop them off with labels and we will get them to the marina.  For more information please give us a call at 416 203 1055.

We would also like to remind everyone that we need a copy of updated insurance information.  This can be emailed to us or a copy dropped off at the office.  Thank you to everyone who has already done so.

Toronto Island Marina would like to thank everyone joining us for another great season on the island.  The water can’t stay this high forever so don’t let it get you down.  We are open and happy to help in any way possible to make your time at the marina more enjoyable. Feel free to contact the office for updates on boat status and water conditions.

Sincerely,

Your TIM Team

Dear Boaters,

It is time once again to think about spring and the upcoming boating season. We hope that everyone is looking forward to another great year.

We will be attending the Toronto International Boat Show running January 20h to 29th at the Enercare Centre (formally the Direct Energy Centre). We are located in booth 1748 if you would like to visit us! We are once again offering our boat show special of a 10% discount to anyone signing up and paying for mooring by January 29th 2017. At this time, we would like to extend this offer to all of our boaters. It is a great way to save money on your fees.  If you are interested in receiving this discount, please contact us right away. In order to qualify for this discount, your accounts must be in good standing and you must make payment in full by January 29th. Contact us by email or phone and we will create a Summer Lease Agreement for you.

If you do not renew your slip in January to receive the 10% discount, please remember that in order to confirm your summer mooring and reserve your dock you must return your paperwork with 50% of your seasonal fees by March 1st, 2017. The remaining 50% is due by April 1st.  If we have not heard from you by April 1st, 2017 we will assume that docking space is not required. If you have any questions, please call the marina office at 416-203-1055. All new boaters have been invited to select docks with us beginning April 1st 2017; at that time, we will be offering all docks that are left unassigned.   Don’t let your spot get away from you…. remember to renew.

For those boaters interested in signing on as annual patrons and taking advantage of our free pump-outs all season and free bottom pressure wash in the fall, please remember to include a $100 deposit towards your winter storage for the 2017/18 season.

If your boat is currently stored at the marina, you will be contacted when the time approaches for launch. Remember to prepare and be ready for launch in order to avoid being charged a relocation fee. Boat launching will begin in early April and continue until the end of May based on your position on land.

Tender service will resume in early April when weather permits. Check the website for updated information and the upcoming tender schedule.

We thank you for your continued patronage and we look forward to seeing you in the spring. Enjoy the remainder of your winter.

Sincerely,

Marina Management and Staff.

Dear Boaters,

Fall has arrived and it is time to think about putting the boat away for winter. Haul out officially begins this week and will continue until the end of October. To schedule an appointment please stop by the office, call us at 416 203 1055 or email gordon@localhost.

Winterizing forms are now available on our website under the Rates tab. Make sure these forms are filled out and submitted early to ensure winterizing can be scheduled before the cold weather hits.

We would like to remind everyone that insurance certificates must be up to date and contracts signed and paid for prior to haul out. Insurance documents can be dropped off at the office or emailed to marina@localhost.

Boaters are reminded that all personal property must be stored on your boats during winter or in a dock box in an appropriate location. Canoes and Kayaks must be stored on the marina racks and arrangements for that can be made in the front office. All land space within the marina is used for boat and dock storage and the marina is not responsible for lost or damaged items left on the property. All items that have to be removed by the marina will be charged storage and must be collected by May 15th, 2017 or they will be disposed.

The marina staff would like to thank everyone for another great summer at Toronto Island Marina. We look forward to having everyone back next year.
